Alexis

Director of Programs

(She / Her)

Alexis joined CAE in 2022 as the Director of Programs. She believes deeply in the power of collective liberation, the importance of being accountable to communities most impacted by the systems our movements aim to address, and grassroots social change. Personally, she is dedicated to lifelong learning about transformative & healing justice, community-led systems change, and anti-oppression. She is honored to be raising an amusing, loving, tender kid and a happy, sleepy, well-loved dog with the support of her family and community.

She has worked as a social worker in youth development, community mental health, and educational access. As an organizer she has worked to dismantle white supremacy in individuals and communities, uplift QTPOC-led racial justice campaigns, and sought accountability in law enforcement and the criminal legal system. Alexis specializes in program development that is trauma informed, anti-oppressive, and rooted in revolutionary love. She has skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and mental health support. Some of the organizations she is proud to have served and learned from are The Door - A Center of Alternatives, SURJ (Showing up for Racial Justice), The Katal Center, SEED, and TRiO/Upward Bound.

Alexis loves humor, collage, spending long days with family and friends, dancing, and is a die-hard fan of the New York Knicks and Yankees. She lives and works on unceded Lenape territory.
