Bianca

Anti-Violence Educator & Advisor

(They / Them)

Bianca has been involved in CAE since 2003 when they began as a student! Now, they work as CAE’s Anti-Violence Educator and Advisor, bringing over a decade of training and experience in empowerment self-defense. Bianca has always been passionate about the right for marginalized people to navigate this world free from violence, and pursues that goal through CAE’s anti-violence pillars of self-defense, social justice and self-care. Starting within CAE's youth programs, Bianca then went on to become a Peer Educator, then Senior Instructor, before joining the team full time in 2020 as our Anti-Violence Educator and Advisor.

Along with direct experience with CAE, Bianca earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology as well as completing a Mental Health First Aid training with the Department of Health. They credit CAE for their learning to be unapologetic for defending themselves, to voice what they want, to demand that those around them respect their boundaries. Outside of their work with CAE, Bianca has been involved with several community based youth education programs throughout the city, as well as contributing to community activism and housing rights within their neighborhood of Harlem.
